Is this happening in a Teamwork project?

If yes, then it may be that you have a Role in the Teamwork Project which does not have Permission to create/modify these element types.

You would have to talk to the Administrator of the Teamwork Project and ask them to modify your Role's Permission so that you can create/modify them.

I think you will have to leave the Project and Join it again for these changes in your Role's Permissions to take effect.

Yes it is a teamwork file. We have checked and I have all the permissions. Tried updating archicad, macOS, leaving and rejoining the project, still getting the same message. Is there anything else that can be tried? Thank you.

I have no additional ideas as I do not have BIM Server running on my computer.

I suggest that you contact your local reseller and report this issue to them, hopefully, they will be able to help you.
