how can i model the irregular curve in archicad, i can model regular curved but this type which does not end where it start is giving me difficulty.

Hello, could someone explain how AC does 'sphere segmetation' as showed in the picture? I need help on that one.

I don't know for sure on this one but I would use spherical library parts and SEOs. At least for the preliminary modeling anyway.

I thought about that also, but it looks like you can't substract a sphere from a wall object. At least I couldn't menaged to do it. And even if I could do it, how to make those sphere parts to fill the cutted gaps?

If you use the sphere object in the library it should be a solid that will work for SEOs. The details of the order and pattern of the elements and their SEOs might be a bit complex depending on the desired result, but I don't see any reason it can't work.

You could also use curved profiled walls. That would probably be the best way as you can put openings into them directly without complex interrelated SEOs.

I did this in 2005, before Complex profile. The picture pretty much explains the process - modeled with slabs, saved as objects, and some SEOs.

wow, realy nice work there...
But complex profiles are making things easier to model..
Only thing is that they slooooooooooowwww down AC a lot, viewport mostly. Any idea how to speed up working in viewport?

I don't find them too slow unless I have thousands of them and forget to set the intersection priorities properly. What do you mean by viewport?

Sorry, viewport is name for 3d perspective view in 3d programs, like 3d max etc.. there are also top viewport, side etc...
What I was trying to say:
I have two half sphere intersecting. I want to create a union of them, showed in the picture. And both walls have settings showed in the picture, priority set to 0.

I haven't noticed a signifficant delay in 3D form generation due to Custom profiles. SEOs are the usual suspects.
