Missing Survey Point Object In AC27?

CarlM

Hi all,

I am missing the SP object in the library in AC27! I am not sure if it disappeared in the lastest update, or if it has never been present in AC27 - I haven't used it after I upgraded from AC26...

Is it present in your library?

Cheers!

Hi @CarlM

You can check the community article titled: Understanding the Survey Point in Archicad for accurate project coordination.

Also, if you use the INTernational version you can find Coordinate Dimensions 27 and North Symbol 27 inside Archicad Library 27> BASIC LIBRARY 27> 2D Elements 27> Graphic Symbols 27.

Anyway it is always possible to use the Search Library Parts bar at the top of the Object Default Settings window to find any other needed library object.

Thanks Ricardo for your quick reply!

My issue is just that it is missing. I know where it usually is located - not present. And the search returns nothing…

The Survey Point object doesn’t exist anymore. It’s now built in to the Archicad interface. There are new menu items to show and hide the survey point and it can be repositioned on a screen. By default it will be placed at the 0,0 project origin. If you refer to the article suggested in the earlier reply that will help you.

If you imported your work environment from earlier Archicad versions the menu items for showing, hiding and moving the survey point may be turned off and not visible.

Have you loaded the migration libraries?

Hi @Barry ,

I don’t think it’s included in the migration libraries either as it’s now built in to the interface as opposed to being a separate add-on.

I just checked and it automatically migrates to the new survey point in 27.

Or at least if you copy a survey point from an old file into 27, it will disappear (doesn't even become "missing"), and it will activate (turn on) the new survey point.

It doesn't seem to feed in any of the co-ordinate info though, so it will have to be reset.

So it seems the old survey just does not exist anymore.

Lee and Barry,

Thanks for your replies!

I will use the new SP and reschedule using the "normal" coordinate object which apperently now contains a setting for chosing the SP as reference.

Thanks!

I was trying the use the "new" survey point but it seems it dosent work in the same as before. Before i could set the surveypoint in AC 0,0,0 and "say" it was the coordinates 100,000,000 and 100,000,000 in real world, so when i exported IFC my origin in AC would the the real worl coordinate. Now it seems the survey point only allows to change the origil (null point) to another place. Or im missing something here?

See this reply to you in another post.
