the top view looks like an 'interchange', very much a bridge/engineering
project... i did something like that with objective, you can have horizontal alignment/verticalaligment and a 'bank' / cross slope... i havent used
the shell tool.. but i would use objective that i know i can do it...
of course i had the prompt/really quick help from Ralph V

There's a video on this page that gives a few clues how to use the shell tool in practise...

I say that cadimage 3d profiler is perfect for this job IMHO. I think u can also do it with Shell Tool, but will take more time/work, will need to split the paths into segments. Objective could also do but with same procedures as the shell tool.

Obviously it works in the video... Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Each segment in the path can be finely controlled, either visually with the tools to bend, offset, rotate, etc, but also the parameters in the object itself (if you need specific dimensions and angles). The attached image shows the relationship between certain parameters and the 3D form of an extruded object.
