Open an section takes too long

hey,
opening a section by clicking right in story on the section-marker "open section" it takes a few minutes until I can work in the section. (3 min)

Opening the section without any displayed layer it takes a few seconds. AND turning the wanted layer on it also takes only a few secondes (15 sec) .
That' crazy!

Does anybody know this problem? or better, does anyone knows the solution?
I doesn't depend on Hardware. The same TW-project works on one PC fine an on two others we have the problem.

and for sure its not a big project? and not shaded with shadows?

does a -simple- section takes the same time?

" no shading..no shadows?"

It is indeed a big project! we work excessiv wit hotlinks... (hotlinked PLP)

but it's a simple section. No shading, no shadow.

Even renaiming/renumbering the sections in the INFO-palet/navigater it takes ages...

The section rebuild time is based on the number of polygons in visible in the model. Lots of surfaces (walls, objects, windows, doors, etc) means longer rebuild time.

@Tom again:

1.) all (wanted) layers on--> building section = 3 min
_____

2.) NO layer on --> Building section = 15 sec
......in "emty" section switching (wanted) layer on = rebuild in 20 sec makes suma sumarum 35 sec. But its a workaround.

Ergo, AC is able to build my section in 35 sec! But why the hell it takes 3 min on the direct way? (right_click "open section")
