Printed fills look different

If I select a fill eg. 12" Siding, it appears on screen close to scale, with the lines widely spaced. Yet when I print the document the lines are compressed into a much tighter pattern. This compression applies to all other fills too, whether they use dots or more complex elements.

Can anyone suggest what I must do to make the printed copy more closely resemble what I see on screen?

Thank you

Check the Display Options settings in Plotmaker (I am assuming that is where you are printing from) that the fills are set to show vectorial fills, or whatever is appropriate for your situation.

Thanks for the advice Stuart,

Actually I'm printing A4 copies straight from ArchiCad 7. I found that prints from Plotmaker came out with wobbly lines etc. and lack of detail.

Thanks again.

Stuart,

It seems I only have two places to tweak this thing: Options/Display Options or Options/Fill Types.

To confuse matters further, after a bit of fiddling Earth now prints realistically, as does my Structural Concrete on my 1:50 section (but not on the detail), and my 12" Siding won't budge.

Help!

Solved!

Thanks Stuart, it took me until 12.30 AM to use the clues you sent my way but I finally got what I wanted. Once I loaded Vectorial Hatching into Construction Fills and Polygon Fills in Display Options things fell into place. In Fill Types I also had to nominate the pattern as being suitable for both Fills and Construction Elements.

Thanks again mate, I owe you a beer!

Glad to have helped, somehow.
