Trim to Roof will delete anything that intersects with the selected roof as well as what it below or above depending on the selected setting and anything outside the extents of the roof. If you are wanting to remove the rafters that are extending through your gable, you would be best to use a 3rd element, such as a slab, in a Solid Element Operation with Upward / Downward Extrusion.
If you model your roof covering as a seperate element, and split the gables covering from the main roofs covering Trim to Roof would work as desired.

Your Rafters are Grouped. Ungroup so you can adjust the rafters. But there is not much point since the rest of the roof is not framed correctly anyhow.
Show the roof (if you like) and I will frame it for you so you have an example.

Hi TL, what method did you use to create your rafters with ? Did you use the roof wizard ? Because you can edit and place 3D rafters manually as well.
