SEO subtraction of New elements on Existing elements are showing on Existing RFO

New element SEO subtractions on Existing elements are still showing on Existing/Pre-construction RFO

The Existing/Pre-construction RFO is fine, it is set to hide New elements. The problem is happening regardless of the layers the New elements are in –be it the hidden “SEO operator” layer, or some “exterior wall“ layer shown in the current view.

Very simple model, small home addition –not the “too many SEOs” problem.

I would swear this is not the way it is supposed to work but it is doing it with so much conviction that I am confused. Open-and-repaired file, hotfixed to latest update. AC 27 USA

as far back as I've ever remembered, solid element operations were not affected by renovation status or visibility. Its only been since the adition of the design options that we could exclude targets.
my workflow has always been to set the existing site to demo, and duplicate it for existing. this means existing foundation/slabs need to trim out 2 sites, but thats the workflow

yes, renovation status does not negate solid element operations. It's definitely a hack work-around, but design options do not have the same limitations. If you had a "new" and "existing" design option, the SEO's would only be visible for the option sets that included those elements.
I could see how you may want to keep the thing in part, show part of it demo or whatever... for that, I usually consider the whole element Demo, and replace it... one way or another, it is misleading.

This is a very simple basement subtraction – New stem walls and basement floor slab cutting from Existing site mesh. (Same thing is happening with some other SEO, from a New cutter element in the SEO Operators layer.)

I am confused. Did I always create a New site mesh for New SEOs and I am mixing things up with Design Options?
