Showing location name, date and hour in sun study clip

Hi everyone!

I'm getting some sun study clips done for a couple of residential projects in Italy.

I customized the locations for each project, and I'm going to create one winter and one summer clip for each facade of each building.

Here's a testing sample of what I'm doing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-f4kUxSesFg

I want the movie window to show location and time of the picture frames, which is supposed to appear in the top right corner of the frame. The problem is, I don't know how to set ArchiCad 13 to always show that information.

How do I set the location, date and hour info to show in the frames of the clip?

Thanks!

Enrico

I manage to have the clip to show location and time if I generate the movie in the 3d window instead of the rendering window.

I'm using AC13. If I generate the movie in the 3d window instead of the rendering one, I can only show the shadows if I select the "interior engine" instead of the OpenGL...

Sounds like if I want to show the location, I have to give up movie quality.

Any suggestion?

...actually, if I open the file in Quicktime and play it full screen, the text appears in the top left corner.

If I watch it in window mode in Quicktime or VLC, the text gets "cropped". Same happens when I upload it to youtube:

This video has the location name and time, but the perimeter of the frame gets cut off.

Yeas, it astounds me that only the quicktime version gives you any information. Even then you can't configure it. It's been there since about R6 I think...
This is something Graphisoft needs to approach. The whole shadow/sun analysis area is very poorly handled and has been a wish for so many years that I gave up on it. You can't (easily) do elevation studies of walls from buildings behind the section line etc! We find shadows studies required for all projects, so ArchiCad is sadly lacking in this area. (and no I don't want to buy additional software... ). ArchiCad obviously has the computational ability, just not the method.

Sorry for my rant.....

That's the way it's looked since R6.
Can you configure what it shows? Can you print that out as an individual frame to form a set of documents? Even if you do a frame capture, the resolution needs to be much bigger and consquently the text becomes much smaller. It is fine to show the client what the shadows do, but my final product needs to be printable. Unfortunatley my local councils don't accept movies or even some 3D views as part of a submission. I need to give them a drawing they can copy, send to neighbouring properties etc.

Not whinging, just complaining in frustration at something we've been needing and wishing for, for years. Probably at least 10 years.....

and elevations?
