The contents of Hotlinked Modules can be modified only in their source file. They cannot be modified in the host file they are placed in.
When you perform Solid Element Operations (SEOs), the target gets modified. So elements in a Hotlinked Module cannot be Targets of SEOs, because they would have to be modified. However, they can be Operators of SEOs.
