Stair UP-DN text in AC27 USA, can't find show on relevant/above setting

I used this a lot before on AC USA, not sure if on 27. I am looking for the settings as in the left (from https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Documentation/Stair-Basics-Editing-and-Refining-the-Floor-Plan-R...) and I get the options on the right. That is on the Stair settings; I can't find anything related in MVO either. Help.

That setting is embedded in the label object. Check if you have any other label objects available besides "Up-Down Text 27".
I hope this helps.

The two Up-Down Text options I have. I get it in none. I remember it as in the help picture, in the regular Up-Down Text ##.
In current situation (as in the picture on the right in first post), whatever I set in Text 1 Position and Text 2 Position shows on both relevant story and above.

I've had similar situations and I end up loading AC25 libraries and extracting the label object I need.

Gents,

Try to go to the "Floor Plan Display" page of the Dialog, and set the "Show on" field to "One Story Down", "All Stories", or "All Relevant & One Story Up". Then the "SHOW ABOVE RELEVANT STORIES" parameters should appear for the Up-Down Text.

Nothing with none of the options (you can show it above relevant story; what you can't do is show DN at top, and hide UP at bottom, above relevant story; just as you can't hide DN at top at home story). I will explore loading from 25, if I can open 25.

Brought in Up-Down Text 25.gsm, no change –those options for what to SHOW ON RELEVANT STORIES and SHOW ABOVE RELEVANT STORIES (left picture in initial post) appear to be part of the tool and not of the up-down text object.

The only way I can get UP to hide in the story above is by showing the stair down to the break line, and not showing the lower treads at all. Same thing on the lower story: the treads beyond the break line need to be hidden, not shown even as dashed projections –if they show, DN shows.

I tried a new file from template just in case, same problem. This is a big thing, initially just refused to consider this might have been happening since 27 but now I am doubting.

Look closely at Laszlo's image.

You must have floor plan display set to show on multiple stories, not just home or home and down.

This is a procedure I used repeatedly until not that long ago, and yes I did look carefully at Lazlo’s pictures just in case. There is something wrong with the project file I received, but I can't track it down.

Copy-pasting the project file stair to a clean template file did work. Open&Repair will not help, I guess the only clean way out is merge or copy, but redoing all views etc. would be a pain so 2D patchups it will be for this project.

Starting from scratch from the GS template with default environment does give me the settings (Home & One Story up; set to ignore Model View Options) on the right picture (not where I was looking for them based on history and help file, but there they are), while on the project file I don't get the settings for “above”. On the project file I just discovered, however, that if I set the stair to show on the story
down the settings for the story below do appear. Which leads me to think/hope this is a file with favorites and default settings set up in AC INT, and there is some confusion in those stairs when modified on a AC USA story environment (I am checking, and will update this post whether confirmed or not) –long ago there was a time when modules had problems with placement height and USA story numbering. Under this theory, a stair and/or its UP-DN text set up to show such and such in stories 0 and 1 would have trouble when stories become 1 and 2 (while story -1 is always -1). [Wrong theory, apparently. Original file was AC USA, I am told.]

Anyway, it is a project file thing.

Thanks everybody.

You could try creating a new AC template file with a new staircase to see if the information displays as expected. If everything works correctly, you could then recreate the problematic staircase from this new file. Could the problem be with the work environment inherited from a previous version?
