Sweeping a profile around a roof edge.

Hi,

I have a custom barge flashing, ridge and gutter detail that I would like to add to my 3D model. Is there a simple way to extrude a profile around a roof edge? I have found 3rd party programs that will enable me to do this but obviously would cost a bit of money. I'm using archicad 13. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok, it's not the quickest way, but you can create the custom profile using the profile manager, then use the magic wand to create beams all around the roof, then incline the beams that run along the inclined plane of the roof... it's cheaper than buying 3rd party add-ons anyway.

There is a free "Profiler" add-on that can be used so long as you profile is horizontal.
You can also rotate profiles for columns, balusters, etc.
But you can't rake a profile along a gable.
Look in you Help menu and click on the "Downloads" option.

Otherwise use the Custom Profile Manager built into Archicad.

As Mark said a custom profile beam can be raked for gable situations.

In ArchiCAD 15, you can do it with the Shell tool:
