Template migration from 10 to 11

Hello, i'm writing this to ask which is the best way to migrate a template created with AC10 to AC11.
The major problem i'm facing is with favorites. All the doors and windows favorites i have created don't work the way they should. What i have done is that i configured all the favorites to match the AC11 library parts, but when i open the template all the doors and windows favorites are dimmed. I have to load the AC10 library to make them active. The strange thing is that once placed on the plan, the doors and windows appear to be AC11 library parts, but when the AC10 library is removed, they appear as "missing" again...
Which is the correct way to do this?

like for example in windows, the cavity closure did not work... it worked fine with doors, but with windows (any window) in the same wall, it just didn't...

You would be better off actually adjusting your favorites for the new library (which you would have to deal with on every single PLN brought forward) or consider switching to a visual favorite method like the one described here: http://www.aecbytes.com/tipsandtricks/2006/issue13-archicad.html
Just for clarification: if I choose to move away from Favorites and use the AECbytes Method as described, I will still need to "Re-vamp" the "visual favorites" also when upgrading.

Previously (AC9 to AC10) I was told that the AC9SE library parts parameters could transition to AC10 Library with just the Alt-click, Ctrl-click method. Alas I never could get the AC9SE library to work for me. I have re-saved my Favorites now based on the AC10. Can the AC10 Object transfer over to the AC11 Objects with the Alt-click, Ctrl-click?

You're right, you would have to.The difference is that you would get a little dot for each missing object which serves as a much easier cue for finding what's missing.

You MIGHT be able to inject to a new object. If the new object is seriously different with all different parameters, you might not. Going from AC10 to AC11, I had about a dozen objects I needed to change to the new library, all of which I simply injected into the new object (in the Object Tool menu, not in the plan)

The Dot at most (sometimes lost among other plan elements) times is a nice cue. If the object saved in the Favorites is not in a loaded Library, the saves Favorite name for that object is "greyed-out". So I see the advantage to using a Visual favorites method too be, just that Visual. The problem I had in the Past is having to have the objects ion a Story that was not within the 3D story Range, so that they did not show in 3D Window. I did not fully read the ACEbytes article, so maybe the objects are placed within a Section (or for the AC11 dudes, maybe a Worksheet would work... another selling point.)

This is always the Upgrade Question, What MIGHT we have to re-tool for.
