Hello,
I have simple shell and I wall and when I try to to use trim or sEO function to cut ther extra piece of the wall is trimming completely wrong. There is no chance to get right result. What Can be the issue someone knows? I tried converting shell to morphh, changing material priority and soo on, but still same thing... Cutting wrong piece of the wall. Also is possible to increase this shell piece 3d resolution (without using magic wand segmented segments, bcs. I still prefer to have circle as a refference line of the shell, rather than a polygon).
Thanks a lot!
Operating system used: Windows 11

SEO with downwards extrusion to cut the wall below the shell.
But that will leave the piece of wall above the shell.
SEO with upwards extrusion to cut the wall above the shell.
But that will leave the piece of wall below the shell.
Can you perform the SEO twice, one upwards and one downward?
That is if you are trying to leave just the end of the wall.
I don' t have Archicad running at the moment to check.
But if that is what you are trying to do, just stretch the length of the wall to the end of the shell.
Barry.

@Barry Kelly already propose correctly for you to adjust the wall' ends at the shell.
but probably you have also the answer in the title.
Set the contour line of the shell as you want in the elevation ( it looks like a vertical shell)

and then use the trimm function to cut the part outside the shell contour.

Hi guys!
Thanks for your repl. Kind of you!
I tried all option and the closest option i get is this one, with still yellow peace to be removed.
I really don't know whats wrong.
I would really like to know if this trimming option works. Im just tired of this semi-working functionalities of the software...And more complicated ways to solve the issue. Im not looking for miracles, just a freaking trimming oprion...
ps. i created semicircle in the floorplan, magicwanded extruded shell and rotated it in the elevation...
Dont know if there is another option of making semicircle.

Update:
Looks that i have found the issue. Is about trimming body option in the shell settings. It needs to be set to EDITABLE, not upwards or downwards, and of course, terminate with TRIMMING option to Roof/shell. Here are the results.

Trimming will use the trimming body, but SEO will use the element (roof/shell) itself.
With your semi-circular shell (that we couldn't see the extent of in the first image), you will get different results.
Barry.

Hey Barry. True, they work different. I most of the cases, I will use Trim, and just sometimes SEO options. But even with this editable option i dont get the results I want, but still is manageable. Yet, the resolution of the shell is not on good level. Especially when we need precise execution plans. I want to avoid using segmentation method because of the documentation - radiuses and so on.

You can control shell segmentation in windows registry:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GRAPHISOFT\ArchiCAD\ArchiCAD-version\GSModeler.
Increase below values:
ShellMaxSegmentationNumber
ShellMinSegmentationNumber
This method is ridiculous, but it is only I'm aware of.
It will affect model only on your PC.

Extra queestion,
Why I dont have the continuity of the insulation *fit to skin* fill? I think is bacause the shell is segmented, but still, reference line should be considered, not segments... Any idea?
Tnx!
