Unjoin elements

this may seem a simple basic question..... the walls are still joined and i can't unlock it with the unlocking tool. the only time the walls are not joined 'automatically' is when i draw the wall as separate element.

The walls probably aren't locked - they will be grouped.

Locked items have grey coloured handles when you select them and you will get a warning message they are locked.
Grouped items have coloured circles for selection handles instead of small black dots.

You can ungroup (CTRL+SHIFT+G) the elements - this is a permanent change.
Or you can use the "Suspend groups" to to temporarily separate them.
"Enable groups" to set them back as one element.

You can turn "Autogroup" OFF if you want, in Edit > Grouping menu. I always leave mine ON.

Thanks. I now know that i have to first do the unlock first then ungroup. It works.
