WHEN IS GRID TOOL COMING???

Can anybody shed light on when the AC 11 grid tool will be available!!!

My team beta tested AC 11 and throughout the beta test the grid tool was available, albeit just as flawed as it was in 10. Then suddenly the tool was taken away from us when the final release came out. We were urged to used AC 11 on 'real' projects by graphisoft and so we did. We have real clients and we are working on a real $100m hotel and we need our grid tool back, asap.

*We have tried loading the RC1 grid tool but it doesn't get read by the final release.

You didn't notice your screen covered with the thick sarcasm dripping from the post? I was dreaming that perhaps GS had a customer relations department...

OH, so we're not getting free addons later? 😞

(here I was hoping you found that somewhere and it was real)

Ummm...

What happened to the button that allowed you to choose the marker?

Hmm.. I see the same thing, Laura... and the HTML help file that is included has info and screenshots from AC 10 and not AC 11. Time to refer back to the imaginary letter from customer support a few posts back... 😉

(Note to anyone trying this tool for the first time: you must add it to your work environment in several places. Add to the toolbox, then for Tool Settings Dialog Boxes, enable all panels for the grid tool itself, and then in the Section and Elevation tools, enable the Grid Tool panel.)

OT from the Grid tool, I earlier had written:

Did everybody get this email from Graphisoft:
Dear Valued Customer,

...Rest assured, that we are working deligently on the Google Connectivity add-on for all platforms which was announced two months ago on May 2nd, and which we had intended to include with the first release of the English and German versions of AC 11. We will let you know just as soon as it passes QA.

...
My apologies to GS for the excess sarcasm above...as I just found the Google Connectivity downloads by clicking three links deep on the GS web site to find this download page with versions dated May 6:

http://www.graphisoft.com/products/archicad/solutions/ge_earth_connections_download.html

(From GS home page, click link to get to:
http://www.graphisoft.com/company/press_zone/ac11_google_earth.html
which has link to
http://www.graphisoft.com/products/archicad/solutions/google_earth_connection.html
which links to the download page.)

Perhaps GS can include a link to this and similar pages on the Goodies page to make it a little easier on us?

Windows only I'm afraid, so your apology is unwarranted. For a company that touts Mac compatibility and performance on their web site Graphisoft's Mac support is terrible.

The tragic irony of the solutions page, where the Mac banners are found, is that half of the solutions don't run on Macs, not to mention the fact that Google Earth for Windows is the only one that has been updated for ArchiCAD 11.

Whew, thanks, Geoff. I do hate having to apologize for things, so glad you got me out of it. 😉

Yes, the 'solutions' page is extremely misleading to Mac users...and wrt some items, such as SketchUp and Maxonform, to all users of 11.

I too was part of the beta test and I too went looking, again, for the grid tool just yesterday, along with the SketchUp import add-on and MaxonForm for AC11. Graphisoft went 0 for 3.
Let me make up for some of the informations missing - we will update the sites too.

Grid tool is released for English-speaking language versions. Others will follow in the next 2 week.

SketchUp add-on for Windows will be posted this week, for Mac I can not give a date. There is still an unresolved problem with the SketchUp framework that causes instability within the Add-On. This is why we could never release the Add-on for Ac 10, and this is why it is still not available for AC 11. Our developers are in continuous talks with the SketchUp developers, but there is no solution yet. We hear clear and loud your frustration over this issue, but Graphisoft can't solve this isue alone.

MaxonForm connectivity add-on is scheduled for early August. The C4D add-on will follow a few weeks later

If by the C4D link add-on you refer to the Exchange PlugIn it has already been released by Maxon.
