Wall Intersection Problem

Is there a way to get rid of the bug that creates this small line? And why does it appear anyway?

You need to play around with walls' reference lines - try to change one of two and move the walls around until you get a clean joint. Check the attached screenshot for details...

it's to do with the various thicknesses of walls you have intersecting in one place. something that GS really needs to improve on.

try flipping the reference line of the vertical wall (in your screenshot) from the left-hand side to the right?

(use Edit>Modify Wall>Reference Line... to switch the ref line without moving the position of the wall . . .)

I know how to trick AC with reference lines - I was just hoping for a patch or something!

It's a silly bug - it wouldn't be difficult to correct it I suppose! Not to mention that we have it since v. 4.5!

Anybody who works with ArchiCAD for a while has to become an expert wall twiddler. I have managed to figure out ways to get proper cleanup in plan for nearly every crazy condition I've run into. Full clean up in 3D is trickier. It is a big pain though. We could all sure save a lot of time...

Hopefully this will continue to improve in future releases.

Yes, I said continue, the clean up in both 2D and 3D has gotten significantly (dramatically) better since I started using the program in 1989 (or was it '88?).

for others looking for the Swap Ref. Line "Trick" (probably in the manual), with a Windows based system it is under Tools>Modify Wall>Reference Line... to switch the ref line without moving the position of the wall.

Probably just a typo ben...

Now thats a feature Id like to see in version9 (or above)

Intersecting two walls of different heights is really annoying. ( they mitre full height not just the joining surfaces). You end up having to have walls on walls and then at the other end of the wall it can fall apart again.
