Wall Niche

Not applicable
I have a thick composite wall (brick+frame) that I am trying to place a niche into (shallow recess). I used the empty window and modified the reveal settings and it is displayed in the plan appropriately, but the model shows the full empty opening. I then used the solid elements ops. to "niche" out the wall but the operator object has to be hidden in a hidden layer to display in the model, then it does not show up in the plan. Is there a method to do this operation without having to "doctor-up" the plan and hide layers. Any suggestion is most appreciated.

I wanted a glass surface in front of it, like an in-wall cabinet with glass door. Anyways, I've just used a slab. Thanks.

One more thing, niches doesn't seem to work on the corner. Is there some other niche object for that?
