Wall representation problem

Good evening gurus and others,

I have a curved wall which I copy and elevate. When I change the length of one of the walls I get a connection line between the walls. See attached image. The line looks somewhat different depending on circumstances. Sometimes there are only a few dots... Why is it so? I don't want it!
Cheers,
Mats

This is a long-standing problem with stacked, curved walls. It is related to how the different curves are faceted. The only time I've seen them clean up is when the two walls stack perfectly in length and thickness.

The workaround is to make the middle part one wall with double height instead of two stacked. This wasn't really possible until AC10.

You could also make the lower wall three sections, with the middle section the same length as the upper wall, if you don't want to have double storey walls.

This is a math problem. If you have points on your bottomwall where the topwall begin and end, then I think the math should be ok and you will get a nice wall.

Thanks all for your replies!
Parts of this actual project have walls that are multi-story high but then there are several situations where this method can't be used.
I'm OK with exploding the elevations as a work-around.
Cheers,
Mats

But that defeats the whole BIM philosophy.

Yep!
We're entering infant-BIM. The only truth right now concerning BIM is not to lock yourself into applications and formats. Things will change dramatically when the foundation for BIM (3D models) are the standard way of working.
