License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You can create you oun default layout book!

If you created layout book for you business, you can install it as default new book in Plotmaker. Simply replace "PMTEMPLATE.BIN" in ArchiCAD directory to you book.

1. Open ArchiCAD directory and rename "PMTEMPLATE.BIN" to "PMTEMPLATE_old.BIN"
2. Rename you layout book to "PMTEMPLATE.BIN" (yes, you must change extention from "LAY" to "BIN").
3. Place renamed file to ArchiCAD directory.

There is "PNTemplate.bin" also in ArchiCAD directory. I can't understand what it used for. Can GS persons explain that?

With bast regards,
Leo Roitman.

Seems we may be connecting some dots here Leo.

This is one of my posts taken from an older thread:

"...You can also turn on the Save Template function by editing your registry.

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Graphisoft>ArchiCAD>ArchiCAD 8.x>Navigator> and double-click on Save Template and change it to a 1.

This gives you an extra fly-out in your View Editor called 'Save Template File' next time you start ArchiCAD. This will create a file called PNTemplate.bin...."

You can do the same thing in ArchiCAD, as you just demonstrated in PlotMaker!

Good find mate!

Cheers,
Link.

Thank you, Link. I try to use your method and I see the new menu item.
But It doesn't do anithing for me!

After replacement of PMtemplate.bin "new and reset" layout book contain all contents of new default template: my master layouts, titles, internal drawings e.t.c.

But PNtemplate.bin doesn't function at all. I use your method, I try to replace PNtemplate.bin with my ArchiCAD template, but "new and reset" project is always the same. It doesn't inherite drawing contents, layers, materials e.t.c. It provide nothing for me.
As I understand, PNtemplate.bin is rudiment of ArchiCAD 8.1. Am I right?

With best regards,
Leo Roitman.

It kind of works for me, Leo - AC8.1 r2 2275 (US).

It will save Project Navigator view sets but it doesn't include custom layers, layersets or display options.

So close! You can take this out of Tips & Tricks now Djordje!
