Zone Issue

Hi guys, I'm trying to create zones after I create walls, but I keep geting this error:

No closed polygon found around the clicked point, but one has been found outside the clicked point. Accept it as a Zone?

Note: Elements may not be connected properly, or may not form a closed polygon due to their renovation status.

The division is closed, and I have different renovation status but they are as it should be. Also all the walls have zone boundary selected.

Can anyone please shed any light in this issue?

Thanks

Hi, having the same issue as the first post. Existing walls with existing zone renovation doesn't work. Neither does new walls with new zone. Only manual. What could be the bug?

PS - it doesn't work on complex profile and neither on simple walls, walls are closed

Update: playing around found out that if i am on higher sotry and set the gross zone bottom offset to home story to be 0, it can be done. Still trying to find out why i cant' use to show let's say +3.00 on first story only works with 0.00 on first story...

Is that higher than the surrounding walls?

If you are placing a zone in the same storey as the wall home storey, then you can set the base height of the zone above the wall height and you can still place it with the automatic placement methods.

However if you are in a storey above your wall's home storey (but you can still see them as they span multiple storeys), then the base of the zone must be below the top of the walls or you must set the 'Home' of the storey to be that same home storey as your walls.
But be aware if you set the zone home storey to be the one below the current storey, it will place the zone but you will not see it on the upper (current) storey, as zones can not display on multiple stories like walls can.

So basically you can place a zone on each storey, but if your walls span multiple storeys, then the base of the zone on each storey must be below the top of the walls.
If you have separate walls on each storey there should be no problem.

No, the ground floor is from 0.00 to +3.00 and the first story is from +3.00 to +6.00.

Hi Barry, i think the settings of the zone and the walls may be essential in solving this. There are walls separate on each storey, the don't go further than their storey.

Given your second image, I would suggest cutting up your zone with temporary walls to find out where your closed polygon issue is.

Or divide the Zone with Lines that have their "Relation to Zones" field set to "Zone Boundary".

As i mentioned, if i set the base zone to 0.00 it works perfectly (but in reality it is on first storey so it has to be +3.00). The boundary is closed so that is not the problem.
