Zones being deleted

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am having a problem when I open Attribute Manager, it will automatically try to delete ALL my zones. Even if I just open and close Atribute Manager, I am prompted to apply the deletion of ALL my zones.

This may be an issue related to CADimage tools as we have several of the tools recently added to our system here in the office. I have the same problem at home on Mac. I have Door and Window Builder and Profiler addons installed. Not sure why they would affect the database in this way, but nevertheless, the problem persists. We are using AC11 (Build 1114)

Anyone have any similar problems doing this?

Does it prompt you to Delete them, or Modify them? In AC11, the Attribute Manager has alway prompted me to Modify the Zones upon exiting -- since nothing has changed, I've assumed this is just an annoying bug and have ignored it without consequence.

Attribute Manager will show NO ZONES and will try to delete any and all zones that exist even if you never even go to the Zone tab in Attribute Manager. For example, just open Attribute Manager and click OK to close it and you will be prompted to confirm that you want to DELETE all your zones. Scary.

This is the response from CADimage tools:

There appears to be a clash between the new version of Door and Window Builder and the Attribute manager Zone categories.

In order to use the Attribute Manager to edit Zone Categories

- go to the add-on manager and turn off the Cadimage Door & Window Builder add-on.

- once you have finished with the attribute manager Zone Categories go back and turn it on again.

This is what happens for me, except it indicates that the Zones have been Modified. I have not been using CADimage add-ons with AC11; HOWEVER, I just tested the Attribute Manager within a New file from the AC11 Template (as opposed to our office Template) and did not receive the "Confirm Changes" dialog, so the problem appears to have something to do with our custom setup.

We also have having basically the same problem. Seem to have started after updating V11, with the 1114 build. But maybe it does have something to with the CadImage Tools we also run. A Real Nag. Lost all my zones in one project and had to redo. Also, have to tell Attribute Manager to skip the deletion of all my zones each time in manager.

Cadimage Tools indicates they will fix this sometime around the release fo AC12 which should be in june. Seems like a long time for such an ugly bug, BUT the work around is to disable D/W Builder add-on thru add-on manager when you want to deal with Attribute Manager and then turn it back n when you are done.

An additional question might be, does this problem occur with all builds of CadImage Tools version 11 Door and Window Builder or just the last the last build. Since we use a number of DWB items we just can not just unload the the apx and still have use of the DWB objects.

Can CadImage Tools support folks be of any help here?

It appears to be only the latest build. To clarify below, the intention is to disable the plug in only while editing attributes (like a material imported from another project) and the you can re-enable it to have a functioning project again after closing Attribute Manager. My understanding from CADimage is that they do not intend to have a fix for this until after ArchICAD 12 is released.
