Depending on what you need to do, you have the following options

read about modules - for complete 3D spaces

read about groups - for any kind of element

read about objects - for unique constructions (chairs etc)

read about patches - for 2d objetcs

read about creating fills - how to create custom hatches.

I checked on the net and one place says:
The BLOCK command allows you to group items and then store them in a file so that they can be recalled as needed. The BLOCK command is frequently used in situations where a particular part or element is used multiple times in a drawing. This saves time by reducing the need to create the same item over and over.
So you are essentially looking for Hotlinked Modules in ArchiCAD.
You need to save a group of elements as a Module and then place them as Hotlinked Module.
