curved roof into wall

I would like to curve the upper portion of a roof into a vertical wall (of a cupola) using the same materials. I have trouble controling the shell tool and was looking for suggestions on the best way to do this. Thanks for any help with this :?:

Is the cupola situated on the ridge of the roof or in the face of the roof?
Does the roof has to curve into the vertical wall all around the cupola?

Yes, the cupola is at the ridge. The roof only has to curve into the sidewalls of the cupola on the sloped sides. The roof is at an 11 pitch.

Almost. At the corners I want the walls to splay out onto the roof which does bring the curve around to the ridge side I see now. It looks like you created another component to merge the roof and the wall? thanks for the effort. How do I do it?

I pasted a morph into it. Needs some tweaking but it's not bad.
I'll explain it later to you. Bedtime over here.

I made a video from one corner how I've done it:

Disadvantage of a morph is that you can see it in your elevation view.
