esc and del key problems

This is a problem that has been bugging me for a while (perhaps even throught several versions). It does not only happen to me as others at my office know about it from personal experiences. Occasionally, seemingly at random, I can not use the del to delete and the esc to deselect. It simply STOPs working. I then need to save, and restart. Normally it does not happen very frequently, but today and yesterday it has happened about 4 or five times and it is only 10am right now. Am I pressing some key which turns these off (like with ver 6 or whatever with the multiple select function (shift click) being disabled with Caps Lock)? Or is this just another one of Crapisoft's many bugs that they fail to fix from release to release?

Please advice!

Thanks

yes: on a mac.

happens randomly here too. not quite at the frequency of 3 times every 90 minutes, but enough to be annoying.

i have reported it. the trouble is, i have nothing else to give graphisoft to help them start looking for the cause. it just . . . happens. if any of you notice something that you were doing just before it occurs, post it here. we may be able to establish a pattern.

yes i am on a mac as well..

it might have something to do with the fact that I was switching between the picture viewer program on OSX and archicad rather frequently (more so than normal)

but i dont know. if i did i wouldnt be here...

the technical drawer at my work doesnt know about this problem...

but my boss does as well as two or three others (out of 11 total) inaddition to the two that no longer work here.

same key related problems here, too. I think it has something to do with switching between applications - maybe while AC is in the middle of thinking about the last command you did. It can get confused.

I have had some limited sucess in getting the key functions back through a combination of hiding and switching applications out of AC and back again.

Sure-fire wayto get them back is to restart AC. Not fun, but it works.
