free-form shapes

i like to know if i could achieve these shapes in archicad or would it be better to do it one another program if so which on. i'm using a mac computer

Each plane would be made using the complex profile tool :

Define each shape as a fill, then extrude sideways as a wall.

you could also try to use slab and save the result as an (rotated) object .

if you are a sketchup user there is a ruby script that seems let you do what you want easily ( slicer 3 )

is it relatively easy to import and export from archicad to sketch up.for instance if i draw the pans in archicad can i make the 3d model in sketch up

As far as i know it is more "easy" to import from sketchup than to export . if you have a small model i think it will not be a problem as there will be less cleaning work to do .

Of course this is much harder to do with a mac. The sketch up import is currently functional for Windows only. If you have Bootcamp running then you can import on the Window side and copy your new objects to the Mac side.
