funky wall endings / corners

Anonymous
Not applicable
occassionally, when I'm placing building elements next to each other they react in unexpected ways. In this case, I'm placing walls next to each other but they vary in elevation-- this produces a funky corner where one of the walls hyper extends at a 45° angle. In other cases, one of the wall clips short. They are all drawn properly, i.e., reference line on same side, drawn at the same time (same display order). They display correctly on the plan when Option>Clean Wall and Beam Intersections is turned OFF, but when turned ON then they display funky endings. What's up?
How do I fix it?
Any clues are appreciated.

Hi Ronald,

I run into this quick frequently and have found work-arounds that work most of the time. Try changing reference edges of 1 or 2 of the walls in relationship to the other. I often have to hold one wall back from intersecting (trim to face of wall). This trim will only hold if the reference edges don't meet. One other solution requires putting the offending wall on a separate layer and changing the priority number.

It would be nice if the walls could figure these intersections out a little better!
