Here is a trick you can use.
You will have to do it once, but then it will be faster:
1. Delete all your Favorites one by one (no shortcut here).
2. Export Favorites (it will save a PRF file with no Favorites in it.)
3. Any time in the future you need to delete all Favorites, just import this saved PRF file. It will delete all your favorites and load the content of this file instead, which contains no Favorites.

Since two years have passed since this question was last asked, is there now a way to select multiple favourites to delete, instead of deleting them one by one? I don't want to get rid of all of them, but I still need to delete lots of superseded ones.

As far as I know, you can delete them only one by one.
I used to have a Favorites file saved that was completely empty (no Favorites defined in it). I could just loaded it to have an empty Favorites Palette.
But I don't have a solution for a case where you would like to delete, for example, 40% of your Favorites by deleting multiple ones at a time.

Nope you still have to delete one by one.
We also can't save just specific favourites - it is all or nothing.
And we need to be able to organise them into a folder type structure instead of on huge, long list.
One day there may be improvements (insert wishful thinking emoticon here).

Thanks Laz & Barry.
At least now I know I'm not missing out on yet another amazing-yet-undocumented function

It would be nice if Favorites, as well as any other kind of setting that can be saved, would be saved to XML.
That way we could open the XML and manually edit it. That would be a kind of a solution.

I do not even understand where I can delete favorites.
I tried Windows/Palettes/Favorites, selected one favorite and tried to delete, but no. So where do I have to do this?
