You might have the fills set to be viewed in bitmap. Check your display settings. You need vectorial hatching

one thing more i am using cylinder(object-basic shapes) as a beam
i wanted to use drag a copy but it gets greyed out in a section
do u know other ways to make copies in section
i have a roof at a slope i want to align these cylinderical beams with the roof.how can i do that?
also i have added a structural grid in plan which has columns tags already attached to the columns.I wanted to add a tag to the ridge how can i do that?

You can add it when defining the structural grid, or simply copy one of the placed grid objects where needed and change its marker to whatever you need.
Can you post a screenshot so we all know EXACTLY what are we talking about?

i had a structural grid which has tags in plan view
in between the structural grid lies the ridge i want a tag for the ridge

The problem is - if there is no one to teach you, you will not be aware of how little you know. The more you learn, the more you will be aware of what you don't know.
