lock orthogonal

in Archicad, is there a way to "lock" in an orthogonal "mode", so for instance if I am modeling walls, drawing lines, or doing fills in plan it will automatically take them 90°, 180°, 270° 360°? I know about snap guides and tracker, and holding down the shift key, but wondering if there is a step further.

Closest is to type Opt+X or Y to force vertical or horizontal but not much different than Shift+R.
