hey everyone, i have a multi-plane roof and at the gable ends you can adjust the roof gable overhang, but what i need to do is adjust the lower roof portion edge instead. hard to explain. hopefully the pic will explain. it seems that this edge is always associated with the pivot line, but because the lower roof portion is a hip roof, i can't move the pivot line without affecting the overhang and hip locations. so is there a way to move the "ridge" portion of the lower roof in the direction of the arrow? see pic

Try stretching the pivot line of the roof hotspot without dragging it to access the vertex to modify.
I hope this help!

Sorry Lpalma, but I don’t think I understand.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to do, but I think you drew the lower roof as a single roof. Select it and split it into separate roof planes (right-click menu); that will make it easier to manipulate.

No I didn’t. This is a multi plan e roof. I wast to adjust the high side of the lower roof (red arrow ) out away from the

Hi @heathldesign, Are you just wanting to cut out a part of the lower roof where it meets the gable overhang ? If so you can edit the roof plane in 2D to do so but If not then please give us more information.

In plan view, select the roof to modify, and you should be able to add nodes, than stretch the portion that need moved and pull away from gable end.
You will probably need to select that roof, and split it to single plane Roofs via right clicking.

Hi JeffH,
nope, can't add nodes. eventually i could convert it, but for the planning stage it's really handy to be able to make adjustments to the profile on the fly, once converted, it'll be more work and not very practical with the client sitting there waiting.
oh well. another example of how AC doesn't reflect the real world.
