opaque fill in the section cut?

How about this one? The section marker is transparent...I'd like them to be opaque, so I don't see my decking pattern. Pls note the window markers ARE opaque, so other settings are in order. Is there a way of making the section marker background opaque?
Thanks..!

I don't believe there is one in the section object, but if you don't mind learning a little GDL you could probably add it yourself.

good idea, but no time today (kind of a mantra, really)...how about a solid filled polygon or circle? Seems like AC can't do that. But I must be wrong. Most of the time I am wrong, and am delighted. Like when I hear the fire trucks racing somewhere and I'm at work and I'm sure they're going to my house. Well, so far, always wrong on that. BUT how about a solid fill polygon or circle?

I am working in 10 , and I am finding myself wanting to have detail markers (Marker Object 10) so that it has an OPAQUE background. I can of course create a fill and place it at the right display level, etc. But then you can't group the fill with the marker, which makes it less useful. Is there a better solution?

Burginger:

This is what I discovered. If you open the library part and look in the main window, there is a parameter variable AC_MarkerFill named "Marker Fill". If you click on the "X" on the left side (this will unhide the parameter) and save the part (or better, Save As under a new name), a new parameter called Marker Fill will show up under the marker's parameters. This parameter has a default value of 0 (no fill), but now you will be able to set it to another fill (Empty Fill should work). This will give the marker symbol a background fill.

David, I too have found this parameter on my doors and windows, but it does not exist on the:

Detail Indicator NCS 10
Detail Part Marker NCS 10
Standard Detail Marker 10
Marker Object 10

Does anyone know of a marker object (3rd party) which solves all of the possible marker options?

It does exist, you just have to unhide it.
1. Select the Marker Object 10 and go to File>GDL Objects>Open Object...
2. In the main library part window, scroll down to AC_MarkerFill (see image below).
3. Click on the "X" on the left side, this will change this parameter from hidden to show.
4. Save the library part, or Save As... to preserve the original part.
5. Go the the parameters for the Marker Object 10 you saved and you will now see a parameter for "Marker Fill" (see image below).
6. Change this fill from Missing to another fill, such as Empty.

Sorry about the double post above, can the moderator delete one of these?

David, thank you for that bit of information. Why couldn't this just be set up that way in the first place? As always, when a user is in need of useful information, an Archi-Talk member like David is there to show the correct path.

Thanks again.
