Folks, I need to print large sheets (d size). I assume that making a pdf is the plan. I am using Acrobat 7 for the Mac. Using the print quality setting, 1200 dpi printer, and print all colors to black should do the trick. Turns out ugly. If I use the same settings and print directly to my hp5000 all looks good. Suggestions?

TIA

Assuming you're PRINTing from Archicad, use the same HP settings and Save As PDF from the Print dialog.

If that doesn't work, try Save PDF As Postscript from the same dialog, then run the .ps file through Distiller.

Check both by Printing the resulting PDFs from Adobe Reader (or Acrobat).

If just the looks on-screen is the problem, turn on Contour smoothing in Adobe's Preferences.
