2 identical roofs, one drawn by cliking the walls with the magic wand, one drawn manually. The one drawn with the magic wand brings up a different pet pallet that does not allow me to stretch the ridge line. Is there a way to stretch that hip roof to a gable?

Check the GIF image below. You have to click on the blue line (roof pivot line) and select the Custom place setting botton in the pet palette.
Then click on the Gable option. You can also do this moving the node and OK.
