sample construction project

dear all,
can anyone spare a sample of a very good project which show cases best drawing practices and why they have done it that way.
our practice, although big and experienced have largely drawn most projects in 2d. there is usually a 3d model where all the plans are generated from. basic sections are produced from this model, then a detailed 2d construction detail+annotations is overlaid onto.

i would like to see how the rest of the world gets their drawings to site and the format it is produced in archicad. Possibly we can learn/share a few tips. I have worked in Autocad for the past 11years and very new to archicad.

apologies if this topic has been covered already as i couldn't find it in my search. and if it has please forward link to avoid duplication.

many thanks in advance.

regards

If I were you, I would speak to the local colleagues using Archicad ... provided that they want to share the info 😉

I would pester my reseller, as he should be able to produce at least some info.

If not, Graphisoft UK.

Basically, rarely anyone - except the people who do it commercially like Link, Eric Batte, Karl O and others - will just gift you the best practices. You don't give out free design advice, do you? 😉

you could try having a look through the sample files that graphisoft has put on the web for people to have a look at . . .

(it's amazing what a forum search for "example + file" will come up with )

regardless, it sounds like you've got a decent handle on the process - now you should look at fine tuning. send a couple of people to ACUE in september - you will be absolutely astounded at just how much you will learn from those 3 days . . .

also have a read through (and follow) blogs such as www.archicad.ca and www.onland.info . . .
