Is it possible to scale 2d drawing (i.e. lines, polilines) along only one axis? See attached picture: how to scale A to B? It is possible with bitmaps (fig. C).

There is only one work around I have came up with:
Copy all lines to clipboard. Create a 2D object and paste lines.
Place and Scale the object. Explode object.

Another workaround is to make a profile with the shapes you want and apply height-width stretch modifiers. Then create something, i.e. a column, stretch it, explode it. I happened to do it once. Someone should make a wish about it.
You cannot build a line.
