stairmaker ac9

I am looking for an alternative to stairmaker. I need to model many different stairs and railings (mostly existing), and have grown tired of STMK limitations. I also would like to have a stair in my plans that actually demonstrate I have handrails and handrail extensions on my stairs.

I have read a little about smartparts and archistair, and have no idea how these compare, some in-use information would be very helpful.

Thanks

Djordje, is this what you use? If so, that is enough of an endorsement for me....

Are there any other "must have" add-ons?

Thanks a ton

maybe not must-haves, but depending on what you're doing, pretty much anything from cigraph can be very useful. Their site & massing programme saves me loads of time doing site surveys, for instance.

i'm actually using Stairmaker and its pretty good... although it lacks one feature i think it is important... the possibility to have more than on landing... you can always ad one with a slab but the railing is discontinued...

I used to believe that.... until I learned how to make completely custom doors/windows on the fly using the "custom panel" and "custom grid" options on most objects.

Granted, there are some limitations to that method, but I found Door / Window Builder to be pretty cumbersome, bioth in the sense of using it and in the sense of performance. I found the D/W objects really slowed down elevation regeneration time compared to the GS and SmartPart windows.
