Profile Cards

Please can you remove the Profile Cards from the forum interface or at least give us an option to turn them off. They are the most irritating & distracting thing in the forum reading process.

I'm not sure who they are helping, but I doubt it is the average reader.

They should definitely not be mouse-over - could be a click and pop-up.

And the formatting and information is bad: remove/tone down the badges; smaller profile link; add message button; make it show user info such as title/industry/location/bio etc; online status; member since. At least then it would make some sense to have it.

Hi @DGSketcher@thesleepofreason ,

Thanks for sharing your feedback, we collected few comments from moderators and Graphisoft colleagues about the profile card's function, as well.

Write more suggestions if you have, and we'll work to improve this in the new year.

All the best,

Gordana

Thanks for your feedback. We've overhauled the profile card functionality to have it go less in the way and still provide context to the author and their expertise. Hope this design works better and is less distracting now.

Given how generic the badges are, and the fact that it just displays the first 5 achieved, displaying them does not really give any meaningful context.

Hey @DGSketcher those stickers remind me of primary (elementary) school lol. The psychological profession were advocating these in the early 2000’s as a reward chart to help children make progress in good behaviour.

Also having a label as a “Mentor” is a bit overwhelming to say the least. If I had solved 100+ questions on the GSC then yes maybe ? These are just really gimmicks to get us to participate more.

Yeah ! it certainly appears that way @Lingwisyer. I would agree that you are a “Guru” you definitely know your way around AC.

I think title ranking is not really necessary but that’s up to them.

I don't think "overhaul" is a term I would use. You clearly didn't read my post or the one that followed. If you had even made the effort to put a delay on their appearance that might have been an improvement.

But that's Graphisoft "...Thanks for the feedback, but we are just going to do our own thing however much you hate it."
