Removing hotlinked geometry

If i have hotlinked a file into the main file, and all of a sudden I don't wan't it to be a part of the main file, how do I remove it? I know about breaking the hotlink and all of that, but the geometry still stays in the main file. Is it some way to make it more dynamic?

Like: Break the hotlink, geometry is gone?

Go to the "Hotlinked Module Manager" Dialog ("File > External Content > Hotlinked Module Manager" menu command ). Then select the Module in the "Hotlinked Modules" field and click the "Delete" button, then click "OK" to accept changes.
