You can do the layers (Option 1, 2, 3) and define QuickViews for the changes.

You can also use TeamWork, to create three options, and then pull them in as needed.

thanks djorde..........

say, an interior wall which is already in the base plan.
in design option 1, this wall is to be removed and a new wall with lower height.

so how do i do that?

do I create 3 walls named Existing, Demo and New ?

?? I am confused ??

I can give my opinion... but it's only worth what you pay for it...
I would move the existing wall to the demo wall layer as you would need to remove this wall during construction, and place a new wall with the lower height on your new walls layer. You do not need the wall on the existing walls layer, as it has been demo'd.

just my 2 cents...

For the "Existing, Demo and New" problem we have a regulation for that:
Demo : yellow
Existing : black
New : red

So I can't make much changes on that. In AC I organize them by layers too and set the pen colors as above.

For the second issue (different options) I also set a group of layers and use a layer combinations for each one.

Calculate menu

If you do Take offs remember to remove those layers from the list schemes, otherwise AC will take all walls as new ones.

hope it helps
