Preferences reset

I keep having speed and responsiveness issues. I talked to tech support and they suggested I reset my preferences which did fix the problem. The problem still occurs every 2-3 days. Every time I reset then it goes away. Are there any particular habits that can contribute to this? Sometimes, I will have two copies of AC running simultaneously and to copy data from one file to another. Can that cause an issue?

Problem appears to be resolved after updating the drivers. New drivers were released on April 10.
