ArchiCAD says "Server Offline" even though it isn't

Hi!

We have a teamwork project (“the document file”) with views placed on the layouts that come from several other teamwork projects (“the building files.”) Occasionally the document file will list the status of some drawings as “Server Offline” even though the server is not offline (both the document file and all the building files are on the same server.)

When this problem occurs the BIM server is clearly *not* offline because I can still Send & Receive as well as open other teamwork projects with no problems (even the very same projects that are supposedly on a server that is offline.)

Sometimes if we right click on an affected drawing and click Update, ArchiCAD will complain that the server is offline but then update the drawing anyway. If this doesn’t work, relinking the drawing works (and usually fixes the rest of the drawings for that file that say “Server Offline”) however sometimes this doesn’t work. Sometimes there is nothing we can do to appease ArchiCAD so that it will update the drawing.

This problem affects only some users (but not all), and the problem can persist even after a system restart.

Has anyone seen this before? If so, what did you do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Clarification: This problem has affected all users on this particular project at some point over the last couple of weeks, but not everyone experiences this problems at the same time.

This morning 2 of the 4 project team members had the problem but at different times. The other 2 project team members had no problems this morning whatsoever.

Now that I think of it, I think the problem first appeared after we got our new server. While this would make sense, I still have no idea what to look for to solve this.

Well I contacted Graphisoft Technical Support, and they pointed me to this article: http://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/troubleshooting/teamwork/general-troubleshooting-for-connection-err...

I followed the instructions and haven't had the problem lately, however the problem occurred intermittently before so we'll see how it goes.
