BIMcloud warnings are getting out of control

Patrick M

here is a small sampling of the t/w warnings I have been trouble shooting the past week. This feels like something is broken... or theres something else at play here (my tinfoil hat is on pretty tight right now). And these are about 1/4-1/2 of what I've been sent:

@Karl Ottenstein You think we haven't send tons of logs already to support?

Or do you think that we should share log files here in the forum?

If the latter, this is not something I am willing to share on a forum for privacy reasons.

Of course you must have,  I was just saying in my reply to Patrick (I don’t think I mentioned you?) that the message that Patrick shows is worthless full stop…but particularly worthless without having a clickable link in it to the log file related to the message so that the user can read the details about what happened.  If Graphisoft is not generating human readable log files for errors like this, then that is shame too.

can we even claim bimcloud and archicad are functioning at all if these are daily occurences? and this, just to reiterate, is not a "me problem". this is a client, sole proprietor, only one on her bimcloud, and she gets this (not bimcloud basic, no vpn, no obvious configuration issues)... to anyone at graphisoft who may read this, how do you, in good faith, charge money for a software so plagued with bugs that cause so much lost work and revenue? get your **** together! no more deflection, no more customer blaming, no more computer configuration blaming... either the **** works, or it doesn't; and best I can tell, it doesn't

Have not caught up with this thread, but have you checked your clients anti-virus and firewall?

I'll keep squeaking these wheels until I hear that there is a real solution in the works... here are a few of this weeks t/w errors and notifications I've received... what are we paying for, if we can't count on something as simple as not having to redo hours of work every week? How can anyone in good conscience recommend a tool that is going to fail on them this regularly and catastrophically?

I work with at least 8 firms, all with different systems, networks, operating systems, etc. If there is something as simple as a virus firewall blocking all of them, then the issue is with this platform being so easily blocked by any little network hangup.
I've relayed this in another comment; most architects are not IT specialists. Most of the firms I work with have IT specialists on staff; who are good at their job. I've had this same discusion with them, and they have exhausted every network, internet, intranet, and firewall configuration posibilities they can think of.
the simple fact that the connection works for a while, then without warning will just fail to send with no further explanation than "a network error...blah blah blah" shows that the common thread in all of this is the BIMcloud, in all its iterations and configurations. It simply does not work.

I really had hoped that moving to the BIMcloud from BIMcloud basic would have alleviated the t/w errors. Everything is in the cloud. there should be no communication errors due to network configuration, server firewalls, etc.
THIS IS A GRAPHISOFT PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY!
I have clients losing work, losing money, losing confidence DAILY! FIX BIMCLOUD!

Today, I received another price increase for our self-hostet bimcloud, now called bimcloud commercial.

It's now 265,93 EUR plus taxes per year and seat. We once started at 15 EUR per seat and month, now we're at 22,16 EUR. And it still doesn't work properly!

The fact that Graphisoft is still radio silent, is one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen in my IT career.

I would recommend every single one of you to use this thread and this thread https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Teamwork-BIMcloud/Es-ist-ein-Fehler-w%C3%A4hrend-der-letzten-Tea...

as a basis for the upcoming license discussion with your local reseller.

This issue shows me that there are some deep internal issues within Nemetschek group.

Now it is your turn Graphisoft to convince users that you are aware of the problem and what mitigation steps you consider in the future.

This case really needs a post mortem. If not public, at least internally.

Hi Patrick and all,

We are sorry that these error messages are appearing and disrupting your work. Also, our apologies this matter did not catch our attention sooner. Your post is in indicator we need to improve monitoring of the user forums for sever issues such as your. We will work on having more eyes here to respond as necessary and in a more timely fashion. Since it can be difficult to be attending to each forum post in this manner, we also have our Graphisoft Support Site, https://support.graphisoft.com , where we ask clients to submit tickets and this will be put directly to the Technical Support department's attention.

Patrick I have created a ticket for your matter and reached out to you directly. I will work to see that your matter is attended to thoroughly and promptly from this point forward. Once we have a clear picture of why you are experiencing these issues a summary may be posted here, upon your approval.

Best regards,
Nick
