Hotlink from BIMcloud project file

Maybe this should be a wishlist item... but it seems if I am hotlinking from project file A into project file B on a bimcloud, I should be able to select a specific view that I want to link in. 
One surprising addition to the design options is the ability to establish a design option set in the hotlink... but there has never been a layer combo/model view option/graphic override/etc. available for hotlinks.
So when I hotlink a model from a building file into a site file, the roof layer is not visible... theres a ton of back and forth and remove module, recreate soruce file, relink module... it should be as simple as "place holtlink > from bimcloud project > select view from project"

if anyone has a trick to get this to work better, I'm all ears.

The roof lay is not visible? Are you sure that is not just because your host file does not contain enough storeys? And the settings are the same whether you are hotlinking to or from a BIMCloud project or not as far as I can tell...

Regarding Graphic Overrides, there is a lack of an Import and Override option which makes keeping related models consistent troublesome...

was not a story setting issue. it was a combination of mismatched layers and design options... I updated the source file, relinked the module, and it worked. but it's a workflow that just is not intuitive and thus is prohibitive for the average project architect/manager

Mismatched layers? Whenever you work with Hotlinks you will want to keep ALL of your attributes consistent else things will inevitably go missing.

Regarding Design Options, if you are Hotlinking PLN files, you can change the imported option at any time. If you are working with MOD files and having people export the wrong option, then it might be a good idea to set up a Publisher Set or at least Views for your modules.
