Teamwork error messages

Hi,

I'm Mike I work in a small firm in Berkeley working on primarily residential projects. I've been using ArchiCAD for about a year! Thanks in advance for any help....

I had teamwork running succesfully in our small office. One computer runs the BIM server and the other is a client. We recently upgraded both machines and with the fresh install I am getting two error messages.

Both these occur when using the client:

When trying to access a teamwork project that exists error message reads

"Cannot access the project because it is being used by another process"

When trying to create a teamwork project

"Error occurred during last teamwork operation! Create project content Failed!"

I've browsed the forums and google searched for help on this and not come across anything that helps.

Attempts made to fix errors.

Running hotfix to ensure everything is running on the same build (can't get anywhere without doing this anyway!)

Reinstall BIM Server and server Manager. Using default library and project folder locations.

Specifically allocating ArhciCAD's default ports to Archicad in airport utility, and then subsequently removing the port allocation because it did not make a difference.

Opening and closing the project on the machine that CReated (host of BIM Server) making sure all content is released and project is closed.

We are a small office and having run teamwork successfully on a non-dedicated computer I'd like to get back to that scenario, even though it is not optimal.

We are using quad core Imacs with 16gb of RAM

Hello! Following up on this thread and this other one (http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=35264), I have encountered the same problem. Curiously enough it only happens when trying to access our BIMserver from outside the office, using a remote connection. ArchiCAD starts well, gets a license from the keyserver located on the same computer as the BIMserver, connects to the BIMserver (it shows active projects), but when attempting to open any of the teamwork projects, the message appears:
"Cannot access the project because it is being used by another process"

Does anybody have an idea on how to solve this? We are running ArchiCAD V18 INTERNATIONAL FULL (4020), BIMserver is the same version, host computer is a Mac Mini with plenty of RAM, MacOS Yosemite server.

Remote computer attempting to access the teamwork project is a MacBookPro with also MacOS Yosemite installed.

Thank you!

I've seen this message when a .pln is aleady open on the same machine (would be too easy to say "you've already got the file open"), not sure how that can be happening when you are connecting to a teamwork file.

Are you sure the file was uploaded correctly (can others connect to it)? Just wondering if the file is corrupt in some way.

Thanks! The file is not corrupt, and has been uploaded correctly, as when we are inside our office, we can all access it correctly. The problem only occurs when trying to access it from a remote connection, outside the office.

All port forwarding seems to be correct in the router, as we are operating a V17 BIMServer on the same server hardware.

The ports for v18 are different from v17, have you added in the extra ones? Think it is TCP 1228 and 18008, but worth checking to be sure.

Clutching at straws a bit, no idea why blocked ports would cause this error message.

We received the same messages from only one machine in our office, and were unable to open a teamwork project from the BIM server or share a project from this machine.

This solution worked in our case: Go to users folder/library/application support/graphisoft/twdata folder and delete the contents.

Reopened AC18 and created a simple test project and shared it. When we did this it re-downloaded the necessary information to setup the local TW folder and VOILA all was well.

Might be worth a try.

We were running into the same problem on a single machine and Kirby's solution worked perfectly.
For us the path was "Users/User name/graphisoft/tw data".

Thanks for the insight.
