3D quick views lose their location and target

Not applicable
G'day everyone,

it happened several times the following:
-I set a 3D view of a model
-I save a quick view of it
-I save the file, restart AC and re-open the file
-I open the saved quick view and the model is not there
-I check the settings of the 3D view and realize that the camera is moved and looking away from the model

Is there a way to avoid that to happen?

Well, in defense of the Camera Tool:
1. When setting up an interior perspective, I like to back my virtual tush to the wall to get as much as possible into the view. With the Camera Tool, I can use numeric input to accurately place the Camera very close to the back wall. Maybe it is because I am not proficient at FPS, but I have found the Camera Tool much easier for this than Explore Mode.
2. For Exterior or Interior perspectives I will place background trees to fill in the scene. With the Camera Tool in place, I can draw two lines to extend the view cone (granted not 100% accurate if the Camera and Target are not at the same height) to determine where the vegetation should start and stop (through a window, between the side of the building and the edge of the view cone).
3. For new users, having the camera in plan is easier to visualize what it is looking at than the Perspective Settings dialog box or Explore Mode, which don't have anything visual in the plan for their existence.

Just my 2 cents.

I find placing cameras useful when studying alternative schemes. You can more easily set up the same view/perspective, important in-house, presenting to clients etc.

Not normally a fan of copy and pasting between files, but at preliminary stages you can do this with copying settings or just creating a new camera and copying the Camera settings from the other file(s).
