ArchiCad / Artlantis Issue

I know this has to be trivial, but, I downloaded the export add-on for Artlantis so that I could save out of ArchiCad into Artlantis file format. I stuck the add-on in the add-ons folder of ArchiCad like it said, restarted my computer just to be safe and now when I open my 3d window to save out it is still not showing the option for Artlantis file format. Kinda lost???????

Are you in parallel or perspective view in your 3D window?

You can only save to .atl if you are in perspective view.

Also, what version of ArchiCAD are you using? For 11, you do not need to download the exporter.

Thank you, I will try that and see if it works. Hey Karl, good to hear from you. I haven't heard from you since the first HTHN retreat.....

Ok, in the Add on manager in ArchiCad it says that the Add-on is out of date. I downloaded it yesterday........I am using version 10 build 1188

Hello!

I have also downloaded and installed the add-on as directed by the website, and changed the .bundle to . as directed in the forums..

However under the add-on manager in ArchiCAD it claims "the file is an outdated Add-On that cannot be used with this ArchiCAD version"

I downloaded it off the site minutes ago! Any one know a way around this pickle..?

I have no problem going from 10 to Artlantis on Windows or PPC Mac. Don't have an Intel Mac yet, so that's probably where the issue is. Thomas or another Intel Mac person should be able to help.

I assume you're on the demo version, Chrissy? If so, does it show version 1.2.6? If not, run the updates. If you're trying to run 4.0 or 4.5, I think you're out of luck.

Cheers,
Karl

Hey Partner

Yes - i was attempting to use the demo version to learn the program until one of the offices world wide or locally were able to get e a serial number - lucky i did! because thats when i realised it wouldn't be compatible - obligation free!

I am trying to run the 1.2.6 version you mentioned.. and yes - i am guessing it is Intel Mac thing..

ArchiCAD has its own Intel Mac or rather Mac OSX10 issues as well.. publishing issues.

OK.
I'm on a MacBookPro 2,2 (2.33 Ghz Intel C2D).
In the Add-Ons/Extras folder of my AC10 1188 SWE FULL - which I seldom use - AC11 is much better - I have an ArtlantisStudio_Out.bundle that allows me to save (from the 3D window in perspective mode) an .atl file that my ArtlantisR 1.2.6 fc0 opens. (tested 5 minutes ago)
On Abvent's site http://www.abvent.com/support/download/index.php you can find plugins to Archicad 10 for both MacPPC and Macintel.
The MacIntel one is here: http://www.abvent.com/support/download/info.php?id=742&id_pf=1&id_pro=1&id_ver=42
It is byte-identical to the one I have.

Please note that you have to follow the enclosed installation instructions to the letter. And that the Artlantis option appears last in the Format drop-down list in the Save As dialog.

And Chrissy, thanks for including your platform in your signature!

PS. On little thing that escaped me for an embarrassingly long time in Artlantis R: if you turn on Radiosity, you must click the small Radiosity button (to the right of the check-mark) all the time to get a correct preview. (I just couldn't understand why hte preview was so bad and I had to do Renders all the time). This is just an example where Abvent's lazyness in producing docs hit back at them. I think many people underestimate the render quality achievable in Artlantis just because of the lack of proper documentation. You can see the beautiful images in the galleries, but the demos leave you in the cold on how to create them. The third-party 'Missing Book' is good but not enough.

On MAc OS X 10.4.11 I have updated ArchiCAD 10 INT into 1188.
I can export toward Artlantis 1.2

Nonetheless:
Can you please try to rename the Artlantis export add-on "ArtlantisStudio_Out.bundle" in ArtlantisStudio_Out.apx"

Best regards.
