My bet is (assuming you don't have transparecy in your shader) that LW put background image also behind the camera so you wouldn't have unreflected areas in your model.
Try to change the view angle a little bit, or change projection setting of your background.

So it's a reflection and a seriosly dumb one! Do I have to model a huuuuge neutrally colored background? This way it just looks silly...Agree.
