Can someone tell me why this wall shows the surface for the building materials at the top of wall, but not at the end? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Wow, Thank you Barry. That's one to remember. I think this new method is a winner but to make a quick comment on the growing complexity of this program, looking to fix this problem I;
Under Options
1. Checked Composites
2. Checked Building Materials
3. Checked Surfaces
These three items now need to be combined in a single window for better workflow
Under View
4. Checked 3d View Options to be sure I had the Open GL Engine Selected
Under Document
5. Checked Model View Options
6. Checked Renovation OPtions
7. Checked Partial Structure Display
And with Barry's Comment
Under Options_Project Preferences/Construction Elements
8. Unchecked Use Legacy Intersection Methods for Model Elements
which by the way makes no reference to materials or Surfaces

In the Project Preference under Construction Elements, next to the legacy mode switch is an information popup that indicates the difference between the two modes. With a new template this switch is OFF, on migrated files it is ON to maintain the model as per the AC16 intersection methods.

The yellow warning symbol appears when the legacy switch is ON. This warning symbol has a tooltip that indicates that legacy mode is on and is found in Roof/Beam Model panels and the Building Materials dialogue. But the warning will disappear once the legacy mode is off.
