You are using a composite material as the cut fill. Change that to a normal fill and the thickness option will return.

Composites have their thickness defined already.

Hope that helps!

Hi All,

I recently completed the attached domestic dwelling rendering, Can you all have a look and give me your comments and advice.

I also have the following queries which arrose while constructing & rendering the model.

1) how do you create the window lead details in Archicad? After much searching etc, I had to use Ph'shop in the end?
2) to create the 'brackets' for the porch rooves, i used the complex profile tool. is it possible to amend/change all materials after you have created an object using this tool? only some faces on the object allowed new materials to be applied, is this the norm?
3)Lighting - too bright?harsh? any hints or tips to make it a bit softer and warmer would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

Nice work stonethrower Looks like it's just about to rain!

There used to be a prairie-style option for doors in the US lib, maybe it is tehre for windows too? Can you not set the muntins exactly in the array field of the grid for a window?

For your brackets, CP can be finicky, each fill has it's own material right, presumably you used the 'beam' setting to place the bracket profile? The CP materials will trump but if you set a material in the beam dialogue - it will just change the beam end - so make sure your materials are consistent in the CP and beam settings.

you could brighten it up a little? or maybe it's raining in ireland at the moment?!

the leaded lights can be achieved using by either using the 'editable grid' in the sash options of the window, or even creating your own custom window panel . . .

Thanks Gents,

Yes, there is a cloud or two on the horizon alright... very irish indeed!

I take it that you brightened the image with the 'levels' tool in Ph'shop?

yeah.... i have tried to access the custom window option - but its blankity blank??? how do i set this up to set it working? do i import an image file/dxf? how do i import it for the tool to access it?

will put your advice into practice on my next attempt.

Best Regards,
